Web 2.0

StoryJumper is an online resource that allows students or teachers to publish a book online. This website is child friendly. The website provides pictures and illustrations to be used in the books, or other pictures can be scanned in to use. The published book can be viewed for free online, or a hardback can be bought for $24.95. There is a special area for teachers to sign in and view the books and progress the students are making.

StoryJumper would be a great tool to use in the classroom. It can be used with a variety of ages. If students need extra assistance writing a story, this website provides an outline worksheet. It also prompts them with questions to help give the stories details. There is a seven step process that StoryJumper provides for teachers to use as an outline when teaching. The students can pick from a variety of clip-art, or they can use their own pictures by scanning them. I think that this website would be a great resource to use. It allows the students to take pride in their work. It would make writing more fun. It also keeps the stories in a database. You can view stories that other people have made. This could also be a good learning tool.
